About Mike

Dr. Mike Copenhaver graduated from Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. For the first five years of his career, he served as a large animal veterinarian in Kentucky, Virginia, and southern Ohio. In 1999, he and his wife Darcey relocated to the enchanting Smokey Mountains of eastern Tennessee, and their love for the area kept them there for another 20 years. During this time, Dr. Copenhaver acquired a small animal veterinary hospital with two doctors and transformed it into a thriving practice with six doctors. In 2020, he decided to sell his practice, retire, and move to Vero Beach to spend more quality time with his wife, indulging in boating and traveling. Although officially "retired," he finds immense joy in reentering the veterinary world, dedicating part of his time to working alongside Dr. Clark and the esteemed staff at Community Veterinary Clinic.
